Final Slam Before Finals Slam!

Come join us this coming Monday as usual to read, write, and share poems with one another, but as a competition this time. We'll be gathering in the Garden Room at the Museum of Art and History.

$2–7 cover fee at the door.


The night breaks down like this:


4:00–5:00     FREE Writing Workshop (sharing is optional)
5:30               Signup List Goes Out (10 slots, first-come, first-serve)
6:00–7:00     Slam Round One
7:00              "Highlighted" Poet: Kavon Cortez Jones
7:15–8:00      Slam Round Two


Our highlighted poet:
Kavon Cortez Jones is a Milwaukee homegrown writer, storyteller, biker, and actor. Kavon leads bike rides around to around Creme City to build community, acted in Quasimondo Theatre's avant-garde productions, writes stories about grape-picking and so forth. Kavon a year ago self-published his debut poetry book, 'Club Noir', September 26th, 2016, 22nd birthday. He's a fresh 23-year-old, slowly transitioning out of his 'Club Noir' writing phase to 'the Essence Of Cool' era. The Essence Of Cool will be the title of second full-length poetry book set be to released on September 26th, 2020, his golden birthday. Kavon says the next three years will be centered around 'Carpe Diem', being more fearless, simply a celebration of life.


All ages, styles, backgrounds, beliefs, and needs are welcomed.
